PrintFree Workshop on Careers in Massage Therapy
The Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) in Mt. Kisco presents a free workshop on careers in massage therapy on Thursday, December 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. Various training opportunities will be discussed at the workshop, including the school’s new part-time program, an aromatherapy certification course, and an upcoming Thai Massage workshop for licensed therapists.
FLSM campus director Amy Vona says it’s a good time to start a career in this growing industry. “Insurance companies now have preventative packages that include massage, hospitals are expanding to hire licensed therapists, and the department of labor predicted a 19% increase in the employment of massage therapists between 2008-2018,” she notes. Students at Finger Lakes continually receive massage over the duration of their program while learning how to support their clients’ health and well-being. Financial aid is available for qualified students and FLSM also offers scholarship opportunities.
