Natural Awakenings Westchester / Putnam / Dutchess New York

Eco-Friendly Cleaner Makes House Calls: Serving metro New York, including Fairfield, Connecticut

The thought of cleaning large fabric items that can’t simply be tossed into the laundry—say, curtains, car interiors or carpeting—might be intimidating to some people, but not to John Saraceno. He’s combined his professional background in dry cleaning with his personal passion for health and wellness to launch Renewal Cleaning, an eco-friendly, on-site “fabricare” business serving metro New York, including Fairfield, Connecticut.

A Westchester native and the former owner of North County DryCleaners in Lewisboro, Saraceno is also a certified yoga instructor, an NASM-certified personal trainer, a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Reiki master. He says that blending profession and passion into this new business just made sense at a time when more people are choosing “greener” ways to clean their homes.

Renewal Cleaning offers a water-based cleaning method or the silicone-based GreenEarth method—both gentle, odor free, non-allergenic, non-irritating and safe for people, pets and the environment, he says. “We can clean draperies and window treatments right where they hang—so no more taking down and rehanging draperies, with the added benefit of no pressing or fear of shrinkage,” he says.

“We also clean upholstery, fine area rugs and anything else fabric, like patio furniture and pool tables, all while using the most eco-friendly methods available.”
