Nature’s Organic Hair and Wellness Salon, located in the Shrub Oak community of Yorktown Heights, is now carrying the Oway hair color line by Simply Organic Beauty. Owner and operator Helen Thaler, who has more than 30 years’ experience using organic color products, says the new product line gives her even more ways to create natural-looking color without the damage often caused by harsher, chemical-based products.

“Oway is beyond an ammonia-free system,” she says. “It is also PPD, PPT and gluten free. The products have been proven to give 100 percent gray coverage with colors that are not brassy. They lift hair color to very light shades compared to the past organic color products.”

Nature’s Organic specializes in individualized, exact color matching for natural-looking results. Other services include root touchups; perms; soft body waves; natural smoothing to restore dry, frizzy hair (using Coppola Keratin Smoothing Treatment, which is formaldehyde and aldehyde free); organic straightening; highlighting; sun-kissed highlights; scalp massages with an organic conditioner; and simple cuts.

The salon can also incorporate spectrahue light therapy, auricular acupuncture and chair massage into a treatment to address the harmful effects of stress on the body. “All sessions are customized to your personal needs,” Thaler says.
