New Weight-Loss Meal Delivery and Yoga Series

In Westchester with Mindful Life Weight Loss and Still Mind Martial Arts & Yoga

Athina Pride

Mindful Life Weight Loss and its partner company, Still Mind Martial Arts & Yoga, are launching two new programs: an organic meal delivery service to help people transition to a whole-foods diet for improved health and weight loss; and a six-class series, “Yoga for a Pain-Free Body and Stress-Free Mind,” beginning in January with guest teacher Athina Pride.

Kim Gold, cofounder of Mindful Life Weight Loss, says the meal delivery service is part of the center’s integral, holistic program addressing weight loss through diet, lifestyle and exercise. Mindful Life already offers group and individual lifestyle counseling and mindful exercise like yoga, tai chi, aikido and chi gung. The meal delivery program is intended to help people adopt a whole-foods diet with minimal effort. The fresh, organic meals include a variety of dietary preferences including vegan, paleo and flexitarian. The menu changes every week.

“There is a need in our community for fresh, portion-controlled, wholesome food,” Gold says, “but people just don’t have the time. Meal delivery saves time in planning, prepping and cooking. There is always a tasty meal ready to eat, making weight loss easier and more predictable. Combined with our lifestyle coaching and mindful exercise, this is a complete weight-loss system.”

Pride’s yoga six-week series will be held Saturdays from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at Mindful Life Weight Loss, 305 Central Avenue, 2nd Floor, White Plains, NY. Students will learn how to avoid unhealthy, habitual movements and postures that tend to cause pain and discomfort, and they will take home new techniques to help them eliminate pain and stress.

Pride is a 500-hour Kripalu certified yoga instructor with more than 17 years of teaching experience. She has studied with many yoga masters at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, where she obtained her professional level certification, and with other master instructors throughout the United States. From 2002 to 2013, she owned her own yoga studio in Larchmont, NY. She is also a Reiki master.

Mindful Life Weight Loss and Still Mind Martial Arts & Yoga are operated by Integrated Peace Arts, a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. For info, contact Steve Kanney at 914.648.0492 or Kim Gold at 914.648.0493.
