Swedish Massage Therapist Expands Private Practice: “I enjoy making clients feel cared for and nurtured.”

Susan Adler

Susan Adler, a specialist in Swedish therapeutic massage who has worked in a variety of clinical and spa settings in the New York City area since 2013, has recently expanded her private practice. “I enjoy making clients feel cared for and nurtured,” she says. “In private practice I have the luxury to do that. I can spend the time each client needs on a careful intake and individualized session.”

Adler has massage studios in Mamaroneck and Riverdale and visits clients on-site in Westchester, the Bronx and Manhattan. Her Swedish massage sessions are designed either to address clients’ specific issues or simply to help them relax and refresh. She works with a wide range of adult clients, from the generally healthy, to those recovering from illness or injury, to the very ill, such as people with Parkinson’s disease or cancer or those receiving hospice or palliative care.

“I find it very gratifying to work with clients facing challenges to their health,” she explains. “It’s great to see the immediate positive effects of massage.” She says her experience as a volunteer massage therapist working with end-of-life patients at a hospice residence inspired her to enroll in a year-long oncology massage certification program, which she completed in February 2016.

For appointments, contact her at 914.320.4063 or [email protected]. Natural Awakenings readers who are first-time clients will receive a 90-minute massage for $100 (the regular price of a 60-minute massage) in Adler’s Mamaroneck or Riverdale studio.
