Educational Consultant Amy Estersohn supports motivated, intense, curious and eclectic young adults as they discover their educational and professional goals. She helps them and their families with choosing schools to apply to (K-12, college and graduate programs); strategic resume development; major/program selection; scholarship identification; and brainstorming/coaching/editing of application materials. 

Estersohn typically interviews a student and family to get a sense of the student and their strengths, talents and goals. From there, she will assemble an individualized list of recommended educational programs and action steps for the student.

“No two students are the same, and a student who wants to major in environmental studies and pursue music at a high level may be applying to different colleges than a student who wants to major in accounting and stay close to home,” explains Estersohn, who established her Hartsdale-based company, named after her, in 2021.

Estersohn believes that the process of finding an educational program has a “soul-searching” element to it, and many clients tell her that one of the best parts about their partnership is the opportunity to learn more about themselves. She has more than a decade of experience in college admissions, writing and education, and she has worked with clients in more than 16 states. In addition, she has personally visited and evaluated more than 50 college campuses and is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.
