Sun & Earth | Farm & Food Festival in 2018

The Sun & Earth | Farm & Food Festival, presented by Common Ground Farm, will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. on August 3, with a rain date of August 4. The festival will feature food from local vendors, live music, farm and solar bus tours, cooking demonstrations, yoga, children’s activities and arts and crafts.

“We look forward to welcoming people to the farm for this free community festival,” says Sarah Simon, farm director at Common Ground Farm. “We hope that people will have a great time with friends and family, and that the experience will deepen their connection to agriculture and the land.”

Located on the historic Stony Kill property in Wappingers Falls, Common Ground Farm has a mission of serving as a model for food justice and education for people of all ages and incomes. The Sun & Earth Festival furthers that mission by welcoming the community to explore and learn about the farm while enjoying local food and music. A portion of food and drink sales will be donated to support the farm’s efforts to expand food access throughout the Hudson Valley.

Cost: Free. Location: Common Ground Farm, 79 Farmstead Ln., Wappingers Falls, NY (on the DEC property for Stony Kill Education Center). Park across from the red barn inside the entrance to Stony Kill. From there, the farm is a short walk toward the Community Garden plots, to the left of the greenhouse.
