What To Do If You Find Injured Wildlife
Wildlife lecture by Animal Nation
Animal Nation is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization, dedicated to the elimination of cruelty to animals. For the past 20+ years it has served as a rescue and rehabilitation haven for wildlife and farm animals, as well as an adoption center for domestic animals. Its sanctuary in South Salem, NY, is home to over 200 animal residents. It is the only farm sanctuary of its kind in proximity to Manhattan. The Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Program receives more than 8000 calls a year for assistance. They provide veterinary care and rehabilitate ill, orphaned, or injured wildlife in order to release them back into the wild. This seminar is presented as part of their community out-reach: COME AND DISCOVER: • What to do if you find an injured animal – and what not to do • How to determine if an animal is abandoned/orphaned and in need of rescue • Tips to avoid being bitten – and what to do if you are • Info on urgent overnight care and emergency resources • Supplies to carry with you for encounters
