The O2Living sign at O2 Living in Cross River, NY

O2Living, a holistic wellness center in Cross River, NY, offers yoga classes and teacher training, holistic spa treatments, juice cleansing, individualized health support and diet assessment, and more. Natural Awakenings caught up with Rosemary Devlin, founder of O2Living, to find out what’s new at this transformative Westchester destination.

You have a yoga teacher training coming up in January. Who would be best suited for this type of training?

The Living Yoga Teacher Training is designed for students who want to teach and also for those who wish to deepen their own experience with yoga through the immersion process. We believe that yoga must be absorbed as a personal path in order to teach effectively, so everyone who participates gets the transformative effects that yoga has to offer. It’s a 200-hour vinyasa training that addresses the essentials of proper teaching, including alignment, anatomy and philosophy, as well as the personal experience of discovering an authentic voice both on and off the mat.

Which of your yoga classes have been the most popular at O2Living?

Alison Aronson’s hot yoga classes are extremely popular. She has a nurturing style, and she strives to challenge her students’ individual endurance level. Everyone loves her classes—it’s always a good idea to book ahead for them, as there is usually a full house. However, if you don’t mind moving to the studio next door to make it a little easier, Alison will keep an eye on you. We are currently working on amplification to carry her voice to the studio next door.

You now offer your juice cleanses and raw foods at many locations, in addition to the O2LiveFood Café in Cross River. Where can people find your products?

Since we started on this journey, we kept getting asked, “We love what you’re doing—when will you come to my community?” We also found that getting started and maintaining a path to healthy living can be hard. The lifestyle needs to be more convenient, as well as fresh and healthy. So we decided to make it easier, to reach into the community and offer raw live food, raw live juices and juice cleanses. All our raw foods and juices are carefully prepared, packed and delivered to our locations and partner locations. Currently our cleanses and live-food plans can be ordered and picked up in the following partner locations: Apogee in Bedford and White Plains; Geordanes in Irvington; Saw Mill Club in Mt. Kisco; Sportsplex in Stamford, Connecticut and Power Pilates in NYC. Our holistic wellness center in Cross River offers all modalities. We’re also opening a raw food bar in Saw Mill East in Mt. Kisco in October.

You can go online to schedule a delivery for juice cleanses, and you have an app as well, right? How does that work?

It’s very easy. You can log onto our new website, o2living.com,or download our iPhone app. Select the juice cleanse, choose either home delivery or pickup (and for a pickup, select the most convenient partner location), pay—and cleanse.

A music and arts center have joined your community in the Yellow Monkey Village. Tell us about them and what they offer people visiting O2Living.

Yes, the Main Street Arts Center recently joined our community at O2Living. Their goal is to create a space where children could develop through participation in the arts, and they also want to support healthy development in other areas. A key component of their thought process was to ensure children learn about and have an option to eat fresh and healthy local, organic foods. So it was a perfect fit.

The O2Live Food Café now offers an organic menu for kids. What’s new on the menu?

When the opportunity arose to support the Main Street Arts Center, we decided to create a kid-friendly raw food menu—it might be the first in New York. The menu offers fun food items like sprouted grain chips with guacamole and tomato salsa dips, coconut fruit parfait, and penne pasta salad with lemon and broccoli. It’s “kid food” with a twist: all foods on the menu are freshly prepared, raw, live and vegan.

Other items on the kid’s menu include white bean dip with crispy sprouted grain tortillas; fruit salad with yogurt dip; almond butter and blueberry on multigrain bread; and our daily veggie wrap.

Where can people learn more about the O2Living community?

We created a new website to extend our community online. It’s really user-friendly to facilitate participation by our members. They can exchange recipes and share ideas, articles and information, and we post a lot of useful information related to raw foods, cleansing and healthy living. Yoga classes can be booked online, spa treats can be reserved, and raw food plans and juice cleanses can be booked for delivery or pickup. The website supports our mission: Building a Community for Healthy Living.

Visit O2Living in person at the Yellow Monkey Village at 792 Route 35, Cross River, NY, or call 914.763.6320 for more info. Their new website is o2living.com.
