Green Eileen Store Opens in Yonkers

Eileen Fisher

The Eileen Fisher Community Foundation has opened a new store, Green Eileen, in Yonkers, NY, offering a collection of timeless, gently-worn Eileen Fisher garments donated by the company’s customers and employees. All items are dry-cleaned for resale, with profits going to nonprofit organizations supporting women and girls.

“Extending the life of Eileen Fisher garments helps customers reduce their environmental impact and help women and girls around the globe,” says Cheryl Campbell of Eileen Fisher Inc. “Since October 2009, the recycling program has collected over 40,000 gently worn garments and has raised over $450,000 through sales at the Eileen Fisher Lab Store in Irvington, NY, and the Eileen Fisher Company Store in Woodbury Centre, NY.” Campbell says the success of this initiative inspired the creation of Green Eileen in Yonkers and has allowed for the creation of the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute, a program that provides opportunities for young women in Westchester County. For each item of gently worn clothing donated to Green Eileen, donors will receive a tax receipt and $5 “thank you” gift card for use at any Eileen Fisher retail store. Donations are accepted at the following locations: Eileen Fisher, 166 Fifth Ave, NYC; Eileen Fisher Lab, Irvington, NY; Eileen Fisher Company Store, Woodbury Centre, NY; Nyack Boutique, Nyack, NY; and Green Eileen, 2350 Central Park Ave., Yonkers, NY.
