Movies to Watch this Month: Film Festival & Forks Over Knives

March is a busy month for movies in Westchester! The Village and Town of Mamaroneck and Larchmont will host Green Screen, an environmental film festival, March 3-13. Each of the eight featured films will be followed by a guest speaker and Q&A session. Also this month, the Wainwright House in Rye will host a donation-based screening of Forks Over Knives, exploring the link between diet and disease.

Green Screen launches March 3 with The Lorax, at a reduced ticket price of $5. All other films in the festival are free. They include Bag It; Fresh; No Impact Man; Extreme Ice; Flow: For the Love of Water; Gasland; and Carbon Nation. See below for details.

Forks Over Knives will be shown at 7:30 p.m. March 8 at the Wainwright House. The film shows how a whole-foods, plant-based diet can help prevent and treat common degenerative diseases. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Patti Wood, director GRASSROOTS Environmental Education, which is co-sponsoring the event. A $10 donation is requested. For reservations, call 914.967.6080.
