April 2012 marks the first anniversary of Details Residential Services, a “green” cleaning and organizing company that blends owner Juana E. Pinyol’s passion for alternative health, the environment, and energy healing.   

Pinyol started cleaning and organizing as an independent contractor 12 years ago, but her interest in health and chemical-free living developed when she began researching natural treatments for her son’s severe allergies, colds and earaches, as well as her sister’s asthma and lupus. Originally from Paraguay, Pinyol learned about natural remedies from her grandmother, and that foundation shaped her approach to her cleaning business. “Alternative medicine and the environment are deeply engraved in my heart,” she says.  

 When she decided to focus on “green” cleaning, a friend suggested she call her company “Details” because of the attention to detail she always provides. Pinyol was a June 2011 winner of the Inaugural LEAP Award Grant, presented to graduates of the Women’s Enterprise Development Center for outstanding contribution and service to the community. “My company has been growing over the past year, and I’m honored to offer my services for the greater good,” she says.

An environmentalist and advocate/activist for human rights, Pinyol is also an energy healer, initiated in the Munay–ki Rites and a Reiki 2 practitioner (modalities she also provides her clients, based on their individual needs). “Since I practice Reiki, I naturally clear homes energetically as I move around them,” she adds.
