Quest Yoga Arts is offering a Gentle and Restorative Yoga Workshop for women recovering from breast surgery on Sunday, May 20, in Mount Kisco. Instructor Karla Diamond will combine her expertise in yoga and the Alexander Technique to help participants gently open their chests and improve range of motion while respecting any limitations from surgery.

“With support and gentle movement come increased energy and a sense of ease,” Diamond remarks. “After breast surgery most women are given very basic guidelines about the kinds of movement they should do. Some are lucky enough to go through physical therapy, but many continue to feel a sense of tightness, protection and even lack of strength through their chests and arms.” Diamond will teach participants unique ways to free up tension and regain strength before guiding them in restorative yoga postures for breast health.

The workshop takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Quest Yoga Arts and the cost is $25. Early registration is recommended, as class size is limited.

To register and learn more about the workshop call 914.241.9642 or visit QuestYogaArts.com. Quest Yoga Arts is located at 11 Main St. in Mount Kisco.
