Giving Massages That Give Back: Finger Lakes School of Massage will offer free chair massages to those who make donations to the Food Bank for Westchester

This month the Westchester campus of the Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) is taking part in a national movement called Every Body Deserves a Massage Week. From July 16 to 18, FLSM will offer free chair massages between 5:30 and 7 p.m. to everyone who makes donations to the Food Bank for Westchester. The event climaxes with an open house on Friday, July 20, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served at the open house, and FLSM staff and instructors will be there to answer questions about attending the school and exploring a career in massage therapy. Students will again offer free chair massages during the event, and food bank donations will still be accepted.
“FLSM has been making a special effort to get out into the community and give back,” says admissions representative Anne Martel. She notes that FLSM students, staff and alumni have contributed to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society, Green Chimneys, Crohn’s research, and cancer support services in the area. “The students are already doing what they love,” says Martel, “and there is this joy that happens at outreach events because we all enjoy being a part of something bigger than ourselves.”
The Westchester Campus of the Finger Lakes School of Massage is located at 272 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco. For more information and to make a reservation, call 914.241.7363 and visit FLSM.com.
