Khandro Rinpoche Lectures at Westchester Buddhist Center: The Motivation of Mahayana Buddhism: Enlightenment and Service in a Suffering and Chaotic World.

Khandro Rinpoche

The Westchester Buddhist Center welcomes Her Eminence Khandro Rinpoche for a two-evening lecture series on July 17 and 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. The lecture is entitled, “The Motivation of Mahayana Buddhism: Enlightenment and Service in a Suffering and Chaotic World.”  Admission is $35, or $60 for both evenings and the event takes place at the Eileen Fisher Headquarters in Irvington.

Event organizers say that Khandro Rinpoche is a rare example of a female Tibetan Buddhist lama. She speaks fluent English and has taught both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia since 1987.

The Westchester Buddhist Meditation Center formed in 2009 to share Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhist teachings and meditation practices with residents in Westchester County. Sessions are held every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bedford Post Inn’s Yoga Loft in Bedford and Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at the Eileen Fisher Headquarters.
