Boot Camp by the Beach Event in Rye, Benefits Stroke Research: Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Oakland Beach in Rye Town Park.

Boot Camp By The Beach Fundraiser Plank Exercise

On Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to noon, Tina Bilotta hosts the second annual Boot Camp by the Beach fundraiser at Oakland Beach in Rye Town Park. Participants can choose between two workout sessions, and proceeds benefit the Comprehensive Stroke Care Center at New York University’s Langone Medical Center.

“This fundraiser is so special to me because it’s in memory of my mother, Eileen Bradford, who passed away from a hemorrhagic stroke at an early age,” says Bilotta. “I’m hosting it to support continuing research in the hope of preventing others from experiencing the devastating loss of a loved one to stroke.”

The event includes a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, massages, smoothies, and a kids’ goodie bag from Sweet Teez. Those who cannot attend the event are invited to make a tax deductible contribution to the NYU Comprehensive Stroke Care Center, which was created in 2003 under the leadership of Dr. Keith Siller. The center’s mission is to reduce death and disability from all types of stroke by advancing clinical care, furthering research, training vascular neurologists, and fostering public education.
