Since 1994 the Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) in Ithaca has honored its mission of creating intuitive, caring, well-trained therapists. Four year ago, the Finger Lakes School of Massage opened its Mt. Kisco branch.  Since that time, hundreds of students have gone through the program, 13 classes have graduated, 5 programs are currently in process, continuing education has been offered, and countless public clients have taken advantage of our student clinic.

“As the collective consciousness of our nation turns more towards preventative care, massage therapists are becoming an integral part of our healthcare system,” says FLSM Campus and Education Director Amy Vona. “We’re also very active in community service, and our students have donated their time to such causes as Relay for Life and the Get Your Guts In Gear race for Crohn’s disease and colitis research. This summer we celebrated Everybody Deserves A Massage Week, during which clients donated canned goods to the Westchester Food Bank in exchange for a massage.”

Vona says that FLSM graduates work in a variety of facilities, from assisting the NY Knicks with sports massage, to serving hospitals, wellness centers and physical therapy offices. “The range of employment opportunities is continuously growing and we offer a unique, comprehensive learning environment that nurtures our students and sets them up for success,” she says. Monthly introductory workshops at FLSM are open to the public.
