Healing Source Physical Therapy Opens New Office at WeeZee in Chappaqua: Peggy Emro works closely with the coaches at this children’s health club and sensory gym.
Healing Source Physical Therapy (HSPT) of Brewster has opened a new office at WeeZee, a children’s health club and sensory gym in Chappaqua. WeeZee is known for its “Village of Professionals,” a community of therapists, doctors, teachers and educators who practice at the center.
“We provide a perfect complement to the experiential opportunities offered at WeeZee,” says HSPT owner Peggy Emro, M.A., P.T. “The core of our treatment model is Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), a hands-on approach that facilitates optimal developmental progression, including cognitive and sensory processing and the acquisition of motor skills.”
Emro says that a child’s potential for development is expanded when limiting structural and physiologic dysfunctions are corrected. “Once those limiting factors are removed, the child is able to experience his or her world in a new way, opening greater opportunity for growth and development,” she adds. “Incorporating IMT into our treatment helps children to become calmer and more focused, with better school performance and improved behavior and social interactions. NDT, Brain Gym and Reflex Integration techniques are also used.
Emro says that HSPT staff work closely with the WeeZee coaches to achieve the most positive outcome for each child. She and her colleague Erna Gehlbach Rushin also see adult patients in their Brewster office, located at 20 Milltown Rd.
