O2living in Cross River, NY, now offers hot vinyasa yoga classes using infrared heat. This type of heat is used to relieve pain, help with blood circulation and also known for expelling toxins.
“Radiant, or infrared heat works directly from conventional heat, in that it does not transfer heat from a heating source, but rather it distributes it more evenly,” says Rosemary Devlin, founder of o2 living. “Because infrared is much more direct, it’s thought to be a superior pain relief method, particularly if you suffer from any kind of inflammatory disorders.”
o2living also offers vinyasa classes for all levels. “Each class is led by a talented yoga teacher with a particular focus. Julie Bacon for example, a 500-hour RYT, emphasizes making physical and emotional connections,” says Devlin. “Her classes are creative, well-structured and thoughtful. In her advanced classes she offers inventive, challenging sequences that are often synchronized to inspiring music. Alison Aronson also offers a wonderful practice in which students enjoy the new infrared heat.”
Before or after class, students can visit the live raw food café for cold pressed juices and raw food plans for achieving a healthy, balanced life. Visitors to the center can also make an appointment for a holistic spa treatment.
