Sadie Nardini Headlines Annual Get On Your Mat for Mental Health Event: Mega yoga event in downtown White Plains

Sadie Nardini

Renowned yoga teacher Sadie Nardini is leading the second annual Get On Your Mat for Mental Health on Wednesday, June 19, at 5:30 p.m. The event invites hundreds of yoga practitioners of all ages and levels to roll out their mats on Court Street in White Plains.

Get On Your Mat for Mental Health is presented by the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Westchester County. Nardini, whose online yoga videos have received more than 9 million views, says she is excited to be part of an event that benefits so many people. “In my experience, yoga has the power to bring healing for both body and mind,” she says. “I am thrilled to join MHA Westchester in bringing yoga to the community.”

Local legend Tao Porchon-Lynch, named in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest living yoga teacher, will lead the opening meditation at this year’s Get On Your Mat for Mental Health. The advance registration fee is $20 at MHAWestchester.org and $25 on the day of the event. Children under 12 are admitted for $10. The first 500 registrants receive a free yoga mat and a gift bag, and the rain date is June 20.

Proceeds benefit MHA Westchester, a community-based mental health agency that has helped county residents for 67 years through direct services, professional and community education and advocacy.
