Re>Think Local of Beacon, NY, has joined the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater as a Corporate Member. Re>Think Local is a nonprofit collaborative of locally owned and independent businesses, artists, farmers, and nonprofits working to co-create a Hudson Valley that is vibrant, sustainable and locally-rooted.

Re>Think Local also positions itself within the larger global movement called “localism,” which promotes new, inventive ways to build healthy and sustainable communities with local economies that are strong and resilient. “We are very pleased to be partnering with Clearwater,” says Re>Think Local Executive Director Ajax Greene. “So many of today’s most pressing environmental challenges can be solved by moving our economy in a more local and sustainable direction. Together we can make the shift necessary for a healthy environment and a healthy economy.”

The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, also based in Beacon, is an organization that seeks to protect the Hudson River and surrounding wetlands and waterways through advocacy and public education. A Re>Think Local networking event and evening sail takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 11, aboard the Clearwater Sloop. Independent business leaders, entrepreneurs, creative people, artists, farmers and other interested community members are invited to attend.
