Yoga Sol, a New Studio in the Former Hudson Yoga Space

Oct 01, 2013 09:42PM

Alexa Oth has realized her dream of creating a community yoga studio in Westchester. Yoga Sol now occupies the former Hudson Yoga space in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and features a range of classes, from toddler yoga through chair yoga for seniors.

“I became disenchanted with trendy yoga studios selling expensive yoga clothes and promoting yoga for the young and super-fit,” says Oth. “I realized that we needed a community yoga studio here in Westchester, and so we offer different styles including Kundalini and Iyengar, along with a donation class on Sundays.”

Oth is a practicing psychotherapist with Carmel Psychological Associates and a registered yoga teacher. “I really believe in the physical and emotionally transformative power of yoga, and that it truly can be practiced by everyone,” she says. “I wanted to create a studio where we can not only reach across generations but also across socioeconomic barriers.”

Teachers from Hudson Yoga will be among the instructors at Yoga Sol, along with some of Oth’s other favorite local teachers. The studio also has a special Friday night series, which includes kirtan and Yogadance. “I intend to create a safe, nurturing studio where beginners can feel just as comfortable as advanced yogis,” says Oth. “ I want students from all walks of life to feel welcome.”

Yoga Sol is located at 5 Old Post Rd. South in Croton-on-Hudson, NY (formerly the Hudson Yoga space). For more information, visit
