Living Yoga Celebrates One Year of Showcasing the Vinyasa Style in Cold Spring, NY: Founders Richard Villella, Courtney Tarpley, and Liz Schulman

Living Yoga in Cold Spring

Living Yoga, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary in Cold Spring, NY, is a yoga studio founded by three long-time yoga teachers and local residents. It began when Richard Villella, Courtney Tarpley, and Liz Schulman had the vision to create a studio that focused exclusively on the vinyasa, or flow, style of yoga.

This physically challenging form of yoga builds strength, endurance and a deep connection to breath. “The three of us are committed to bringing a style of yoga to the community that is both a physical workout and a practice that quiets the mind, thus forging a connection to oneself on a deeper level,” says Villella.

Living Yoga currently offers 19 classes a week from beginner (Level 1) to advanced (Level 3), with Beginning Movement and prenatal yoga classes to come this fall. In addition, Villella and Schulman co-direct the Living Yoga Teacher Training, a 200 hour vinyasa training program, which begins again in January 2014. “All Living Yoga teachers are certified by Liz and myself,” says Villella. “This ensures that every class is taught with a consistent language, style, and expertise, and it allows a student to attend any class on the schedule and maintain a consistent practice.”

Living Yoga is located in Philipstown Square, 3182 Rt. 9, in Cold Spring, NY. For more information, call 845.809.5900, email [email protected], or visit LivingYogaStudios.com.
