Treating Childhood Trauma with Kundalini Yoga Therapy: At Golden Temple Yoga Studio in Katonah, NY

Rai Kaur, Golden Temple founder

Golden Temple Yoga Studio in Katonah, NY, presents a program for women on treating childhood trauma and complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with Kundalini Yoga Therapy. The series, which begins in January, is offered by Golden Temple founder Rai Kaur (Robin Miller), LMHC.

“No matter what the original cause of the trauma, movement through Kriya, breath and mantra are time-tested approaches to healing,” says Kaur. “They are clinically demonstrated to be effective in helping people reconnect with their bodies, reduce symptoms and receive support to move from a state of reactivity into an experience of safety and calm.”

The series is for women who have difficulty changing behaviors and patterns that no longer support them. The 10-week course is designed to help heal dysregulation caused by childhood trauma and help participants to recover their core identities. No previous yoga experience is required, just a willingness to change and an ability to commit to all classes. Home practice will be encouraged but not required.

The fee for the series is $200 and a few partial scholarships are available. The time and day of the classes is to be determined, based on group availability. Golden Temple also presents a free introduction to Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and information session on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to noon.
