Holiday Turkeys, Trees, Pies and other Treats at Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard: Fun Family Destination

With apple and pumpkin picking season over, Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard in North Salem, NY, is staying open until Christmas to meet holiday needs. Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys, which are raised free-range style on a vegetable-based diet, are frozen and available for special meals. Homemade pies are coming fresh out of the oven daily, and pumpkin cheesecakes are available in the frozen section through December.

Cider doughnuts and hot, spiced cider are served throughout the day at Harvest Moon. Families can enjoy picking out the perfect pre-cut Christmas tree while snacking on these treats and listening to Christmas carols, and kids can still visit Dominick the donkey and his partner Luna. Harvest Moon sells some of the finest Frasier Firs in the area, and wreaths and greens are also available for purchase, along with loads of chic holiday home décor.

The farm store will remain open until Christmas Eve before hibernating over the winter months.  On Saturdays during January and February, however, the store will open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for locals who need their weekly farm fresh eggs and donut fix.

In March, Harvest Moon plans to re-open and begin sign-ups for their 2014 CSA while getting the farm ready for planting. The Covino Family looks forward to expanding their CSA and taking on new members, but space limited so those interested should keep in touch by joining the mailing list at HarvestMoonFarmAndOrchard.com or emailing [email protected].
