On Saturday, May 3, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Westchester holds its annual walkathon and pet fair at FDR State Park in Yorktown, NY. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features activities for the whole family.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcome to join their human companions for a scenic 2.5-mile walk around the park. The day includes live music, food and refreshments for people and their canine friends, games and crafts for the kids and shopping in the vendor village.

Those wishing to participate can learn more at SPCA914.org. The event raises money to support the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need. Community members can also help by becoming a sponsor or vendor. Sponsors are promoted to more than 20,000 SPCA supporters in print and online.
