Sit Spot Offers Meditation in Nature at Teatown Reservation
Apr 01, 2014 10:15PM
On Saturday, April 26, Lynn Trotta of Sagefire Institute will introduce the ancient practice of Sit Spot as a form of daily meditation. The program begins at 10 a.m. at Teatown Lake Reservation’s Cliffdale Farm in Ossining, NY.
Unlike other forms of meditation, Sit Spot is practiced outside. “Nature becomes the master and thus draws forth the master within,” says Trotta. “Participants will be given the inspiration and key elements for integrating this practice into their everyday lives for a greater sense of peace and connection to the natural world, greater health and aliveness and a profound sense of gratitude.”
Those wishing to join Trotta should dress appropriately for the weather and personal comfort and bring a blanket or camp chair to sit on. The event is only for adults only and the fee is $5 for those who are not members of Teatown Lake Reservation. Pre-registration is required by calling 914.762.2912, ext.110.
