Art and Yoga Workshop on Lake Rippowam: May 17 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in South Salem

Stephanie Harding & Susan Shanti Gibian

Yoga on Lake Rippowam will present a new workshop, “Let Your Energy Flow: Exploring the Chakras through Art and Yoga,” on May 17 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. It will be held in view of a beautiful lake in South Salem—lakeside, if weather permits.

The program will be led by Stephanie Harding, a certified Viniyoga teacher and therapist, and Susan Shanti Gibian, an artist and teacher. They will guide participants in using breath, movement and creativity to achieve greater health and harmony in their bodies, hearts and minds.  “Viniyoga is a contemplative, breath-centered style of yoga that can be both calming and energizing,” says Harding, owner of Yoga on Lake Rippowam. “In this workshop, we will use the breath to cultivate awareness of the flow of energy in the body to increase vitality.”

Gibian says the workshop is designed to balance and enhance the body’s chakras, or energy centers, and stimulate the body’s own healing process. “Being in nature and practicing yoga help ground us in our bodies, which allows us to be fully present,” she says. “From this space we will embark on a playful exploration of color by painting with the fluid medium of watercolor. Engaging in the creative process with freedom and curiosity is a powerful tool for healing, which allows us to revitalize our energy and access our inner wisdom.”

The cost of the workshop is $75. No art or yoga experience is necessary. For info, visit RippowamYoga.com/special_events.htm, or contact Stephanie Harding at 914.274.0007 or [email protected]
