Sparrow’s Nest Family Fun Day and Wellness Fair: May 4, 2014, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Freedom Park in Lagrangeville, NY

Sparrow’s Nest, which cooks and delivers homemade meals to families of moms who are battling cancer, will host a family fun day and wellness fair May 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Freedom Park in Lagrangeville, NY. The cost is $10, with all proceeds benefiting Sparrow’s Nest, which is seeking to expand its service area this summer.

“We’ll have activities for the whole family all day long,” says Sparrow’s Nest founder Krista Jones. The event will include reflexology, facials, drumming, Reiki and nutrition presentations; medicine workers; food and jewelry vendors; weight-loss presentations; yoga and Qigong classes; and paid group sessions with psychic medium and channeler Robin Mueller, “the John Edwards of Westchester.” For the children, there will be face painting, bounce slides and a fire truck.

Sparrow’s Nest, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, serves many parts of the Hudson Valley by feeding more than 20 families each week. It will begin expansion into other counties this summer.

Freedom Park is located at 212 Skidmore Rd., Lagrangeville. To learn more about or donate to Sparrow’s Nest, visit SparrowsNestCharity.com.
