Party on the Pond Benefits Sheldrake Environmental Center: Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Mamaroneck

On Thursday, June 12, 2014,  the Sheldrake Environmental Center (SEC) holds its annual “Party on the Pond” in Mamaroneck. The fundraising gala will honor environmentalist Carol Casazza Herman, as well as Maria Cisneros and Judith Weber, owners of Recologie Lifestyle, Inc., for their outstanding commitment to the environment.

The celebration will be held by the pond on the grounds of James G. Johnson, Jr. Conservancy, offering guests an opportunity to explore the property in its evening splendor. SEC provides educational programs and community events and organizes volunteers to help maintain the property.

“We are looking forward to recognizing this year’s wonderful honorees, who have contributed to the environment and the community,” says SEC executive director Holly Moskow. “We’re also excited to expose a broader audience to SEC. All too often, Sheldrake is referred to as a hidden gem, and events like these help to raise our visibility.”

Last year’s event was a huge success, with approximately 250 guests attending and $50,000 raised. The SEC board aims to exceed that amount this year, and funds raised will help to support development of new community programs and expansion of current school programs. SEC provides hundreds of programs to schools throughout the year.

The James G. Johnson, Jr. Conservancy has entrances on Weaver Street, Dennis Drive (off Quaker Ridge Rd.), and Pinebrook Boulevard in Mamaroneck, NY. For event sponsorship and ticket information, visit SheldrakeCenter.org, call 914.218.3968 or email [email protected].
