SolarFest Music Festival and Sustainability Conference in VT: July 18 through 20, 2014, at Forget-Me-Not Farm

SolarFest at Forget-Me-Not Farm in Tinmouth, VT

SolarFest, now celebrating its 20th year, is the longest running solar powered music festival and sustainability conference in the Northeast. This year’s event takes place July 18 through 20 at Forget-Me-Not Farm in Tinmouth, Vermont. Organizers says  that SolarFest is designed to empower and inspire people to make positive change in their lives and communities.

“In the beginning, the idea was to simply demonstrate the power of the sun by harnessing its energy to deliver a first class music festival,” says Managing Director Patty Kenyon. “Over time, we’ve grown to include programming for all ages, including hands-on and in-depth educational opportunities, music, theater, and art. Our mission is to connect people, the arts, ideas and technology, fostering partnerships for a vibrant present and a sustainable future.”

Kenyon says that SolarFest balances fun with learning, to help people gain the tools and inspiration they need to survive and adapt in a rapidly changing world. “We believe that change happens one person at a time and that people learn best when they are safe, relaxed, and having fun,” she says.

People can attend SolarFest for a day or the entire weekend, with camping and Bed and Breakfast options available for accommodations.
