Jikiden Reiki Seminars Come to Tarrytown: Luci Carpenter, owner of LightWorks Reiki

Luci Carpenter

Luci Carpenter, owner of LightWorks Reiki in Port Henry, NY, will lead August seminars in the first two levels of Jikiden Reiki, the original Reiki which is entirely free of Western influence. “Reiki is a simple form of energy healing from Japan known as shinshin kaizen usui Reiki ryoho, which translates as ‘usui treatment for the improvement of body and mind,’” Carpenter says. “Jikiden Reiki translates as ‘direct transmission.’ Its roots go back almost to the discovery of Reiki itself.”

Carpenter’s Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden seminars will be held August 15-19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Courtyard Tarrytown Greenburgh, 475 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY. “Students will experience Reiki in its original beauty and simplicity,” she says. “They will learn the history and practical aspects of Reiki, including procedures for self-care and for providing Reiki sessions to others.”

Carpenter, an authorized shihan (teacher) of Jikiden Reiki, says her Reiki journey began in 2006, during a time of great stress and personal tragedy. “Reiki has become a daily tool to support and guide me forward through grief and daily life,” she says. “My passion for Reiki and the healing arts led me to share the benefits of Jikiden Reiki with others through practice and teaching, enabling them to find their own healing paths.” She notes that Jikiden Reiki has a history of success treating chronic illness. “It is a simple, safe, nonreligious therapeutic treatment that works, whether you believe in Reiki or not.”
