2014 SOWE Food and Wine Festival: September 19 through 21 in White Plains, Mamaroneck and Scarsdale, NY.

The Southern Westchester (SOWE) Food and Wine Festival takes place September 19 through 21, 2014, in White Plains, Mamaroneck and Scarsdale, NY. The weekend’s festivities include gourmet food samplings from hundreds of the area’s top restaurants, caterers, bakeries and pit masters, and more than 300 award winning wines and craft beers from around the world.

Attendees can also enjoy celebrity-chef cooking demonstrations, product displays, book signings, live music and children’s activities. Baumer Ventures, Inc. is producing the SOWE festival, hosted by the Scarsdale Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Mamaroneck. Last year’s event attracted more than 7,500 attendees.

The 2014 SOWE Food and Wine Festival features a Chef Battle between Graham Elliot and Rocco DiSpirito, and musical acts include Gary U.S. Bonds, Marshall Crenshaw, The Ramps and Gil Parris. The event includes a Mrs. Green’s Healthy Eating Pavilion and Modell’s Kids Zone.

In addition to bringing community together through food, wine, and beverage sampling, the festival generates awareness and raises funds to fight hunger, obesity and malnutrition.

This year’s beneficiaries include WhyHunger, Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corp., Food Bank for Westchester and Greyston Foundation. SOWE is also excited to partner this year with the Culinary Institute of America, the world’s premier culinary college, which will provide cooking demonstrations and samples from their world famous restaurants.
