Alexander Technique Awareness Week October 12-18, Demos and Classes in Westchester: With Karla Booth Diamond

Karla Booth Diamond

Karla Booth Diamond, a certified teacher of the century-old self-care method known as the Alexander Technique, will be participating in International Alexander Technique Awareness Week by offering free lecture demonstrations and group classes beginning in October.

“We often think of pain, tension and limited movement as inevitable parts of getting older, but they’re not,” Diamond says. “Studying the Alexander Technique can teach you to move with more ease and poise, so that you look and feel younger. The technique has been taught worldwide for more than a hundred years, and its effectiveness is supported by published research.”

Booth will offer “Introduction to the Alexander Technique” through Chappaqua Continuing Education on six consecutive Mondays from October 20 to November 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Seven Bridges High School in Chappaqua. She will also offer the intro class on four Thursdays beginning October 24 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Quest Yoga Arts, 113 Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY. She teaches an ongoing group class, “Alexander Technique Applied to Movement,” every Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Quest Yoga Arts (QuestYogaArts.com). The cost of the ongoing class is $120 for six weeks.
