John Boys Farm’s Outpost Opens in Bedford, NY

John Ubaldo, owner of John Boys Farm, has opened The Outpost in Bedford Village. “I opened The Outpost as my ‘app’ for when I’m not in town at the farmers’ markets and as the antidote to the supermarket,” Ubaldo says. “The store is full of all-organic and non-GMO products.”

All meats and eggs at The Outpost are from John Boys Farm—raised on pasture and fed 100 percent non-GMO, pesticide- and herbicide-free grains that Ubaldo grows and grinds for his animals. The Outpost offers prepared foods and take-home meals; catering and private-event menus; a chicken rotisserie; raw and fermented products; 100 percent grass-fed milk, cheese, yogurt and butter; and fresh breads weekly.

“Co-chefs Erica Miller of Erica’s Kitchen and Ingrid Bratberg are doing all of the cooking in the store, bringing a nice variety of tastes and flavors to the food,” Ubaldo says. The menu varies based on what is fresh and in season; call 914.205.3900 to check in and see what is special each day.

The Outpost is located at 1 Court Rd., Bedford, NY. It is open Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
