Shyno Pandeya

Santhigram Wellness in White Plains, NY, is ready to help people maintain health through the winter with treatments that aim to keep the body balanced during this cold season.

“With cooler temperatures outside, it’s time to pay particular attention to the needs of the body,” says Praia Balmugren, an ayurvedic Dietician at Santhigram Wellness.

“As the energy, or agni, is focused inward, it is important to pay attention to diet and take care of the skin, which needs particular attention in winter.”

The basic Ayurvedic treatment, known as Abyanga, is offered at Santhigram. Owner Shyno Pandeya says that it consists of warming oils in winter. “The oils vary with each person’s dosha, or constitution, and we combine them with a steam bath,” says Pandeya. “The oils help to protect and support the agni within the body, and ayurvedic oil baths can be an effective way maintain our health during the cold winter months.”

Santhigram Wellness offers a membership package to those who want to have regular ayurvedic oil treatments, which calm and relax during the busy holiday season. “It’s important to have a little quiet time to rejuvenate so that we can truly be our best when spending time with friends and loved ones,” Pandeya says.
