Insight Counseling LLC in Ridgefield, CT, will host a Creative Visualization workshop February 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “People who are seeking a healthy lifestyle and embracing positive lifestyle changes will be very interested in this proven method to dissolve blocks and rewrite old beliefs and self-imposed limitations,” says Insight Counseling owner and director Elizabeth Jorgensen.
Creative Visualization uses simple techniques of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy and guided imagery to help participants learn to identify and change repetitive fears and negative “self-talk,” Jorgensen says. “The methods taught in Creative Visualization are proven to help anyone address patterns of behavior that block success. Creative Visualization can be learned by anyone and applied to any goals or in any profession.” She says the techniques have been used to change behaviors such as overeating, smoking and professional underachievement; facilitate career change; minimize blocks in personal relationships; and reduce feelings of anxiety and depression.
The workshop leaders have a combined 40 years’ experience using and teaching Creative Visualization. The $220 workshop fee includes materials, an individual consultation with a group leader, and a personalized CD or MP3 to help reinforce and practice the technique. (Friends signing up together pay the reduced price of $190 each.) Insight Counseling will donate $40 from each registration to the Alice Jones Pierce fund, a nonprofit helping homeless families in Connecticut.
