Camp Dunnabeck Empowers Kids with Learning Differences: Camp Dunnabeck in Amenia, NY

Camp Dunnabeck, located on the 150-acre campus of the Kildonan School in Amenia, NY, will host an open house March 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. Since 1955, the camp has helped intelligent children ages 8-16 with dyslexia and or/language-based learning differences achieve academic success. The camp will be open this year from June 27 through August 8.

Camp Dunnabeck combines the one-on–one, individualized Orton-Gillingham tutorial with a selection of traditional camp activities such as horseback riding, tennis, archery and visual arts. The goal of the camp is to allow campers to build the reading and language skills they need while having the fun time they deserve. Both day and boarding options are available.

The Kildonan School is a coed boarding and day school that has been empowering those with dyslexia since 1969. It is for children in grades 2 through 12 as well as those who have finished high school but want an extra (post-graduate) year, either for age reasons or to grow academically or athletically. Kildonan offers daily, one-on-one Orton-Gillingham tutoring and a competitive curriculum, which includes integrated assistive technology, athletics and the arts.
