Camp Hillcroft Opens Summer Registration: In rural eastern Dutchess County.

Summer registration has opened at Camp Hillcroft, the family-run day camp where children have “learned by doing” since 1950. The camp will hold open houses April 29 and May 2, 2015, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at its location in rural eastern Dutchess County.

“The name Hillcroft comes from ‘hill,’ or high location, and ‘croft,” the English word for a working farm,” says director and owner Greg Buttinger. “In directing Hillcroft, we strive to continue the perfect balance of our goal: personal growth, fostering independence and self-esteem, and unlocking children’s potential for the love of learning.” Buttinger says children achieve these goals under the guidance of the camp’s mature and supportive staff. “We pride ourselves on not only having a superior program, but also facilitating the growth of friendships, values and community awareness,” he says.

Camp Hillcroft serves children in pre-K through ninth grade. Summer 2015 sessions are scheduled for June 29-August 21 (eight weeks); June 29-July 24 (four weeks); and July 27-August 21 (four weeks). Camp hours are 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Transportation is available upon request, and before- and after-hours care are available for a nominal fee.

Camp Hillcroft is located on Route 55 in Lagrangeville, NY, very close to the Taconic State Parkway. Space is limited. For info or to schedule a tour, visit CampHillcroft.com or call 845.223.5826.
