Workshop Explains How to Make Lasting Change: Lose weight and more with Ettie Shapiro, May 16, 2015, in Rye, NY

Ettie Shapiro

Accredited coach and licensed psychotherapist Ettie Shapiro will lead an Immunity To Change (ITC) workshop, “Break Through Obstacles,” on May 16, 2015,  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wainwright House, the holistic learning center in Rye, NY. Developed by Harvard professors Bob Kegan and Lisa Lehay, the ITC method is designed to help people set and stick with improvement goals to create lasting change.

“The majority of dieters regain more weight than they lost, and only one out of seven people who need to change their habits due to a life-threatening heart condition are able to make a change,” Shapiro says. “We need a new approach to change, because even when it’s a matter of life or death, change is hard.”

According to Shapiro, workshop participants will change the basic ways in which they make sense of their world and themselves; identify their improvement goals and the things that have undermined past goals; and discover a new way to move forward to create lasting change. “The ITC method gives you a crystal-clear picture of the hidden commitments that work against you achieving your goals,” says Shapiro, who will be offering regular ITC sessions and workshops in Westchester. “You see what is driving you to have one foot on the gas and the other foot on the brake. The road to successful and enduring change is revealed so that you can become the person you want to become.”

Wainwright House is located at 260 Stuyvesant Avenue, Rye, NY. For more info about the workshop, visit Wainwright.org.
