Holistic Moms Network Hosts Organic Tasting, August 30, 2015: North Westchester/Lower Putnam chapter

The North Westchester/Lower Putnam chapter of the Holistic Moms Network (HMN) will host a tasting at Delicious Gardens, a Bedford Hills, NY, boutique for organic and home hydroponic gardening enthusiasts, on August 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. to noon. The tasting—provided by Farmigo, the new, locally sourced online farmer’s market—is open to members of all local chapters of HMN as well as anyone interested in joining. An RSVP is required.

“Holistic Moms Network is a grassroots-grown 501(c)3 with 120 chapters across the country,” says chapter leader Shira Adler. “Its mission is to serve as a support and discussion network for parents and caregivers interested in all aspects of holistic health and green living.” Members receive discounts and coupons from HMN sponsors, and can attend monthly educational meetings (every fourth Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Katonah United Methodist Church), special events, and children’s playgroups (starting this fall). There will be no meeting in August. Upcoming meetings will feature Dr. Michael Finkelstein discussing “Slow Medicine” (September 24) and licensed marriage and family therapist Ellen Cassale discussing “Dialectical Behavior Therapy: Therapeutic Survival Skills for Raising Spirited Children” (October 22). The November meeting will be replaced by a special gratitude event: a community potluck and clothing drive (November 14, 10 a.m.-noon).

“One of the biggest benefits of membership includes a vibrant online member community, nationally and locally,” Adler says.

Delicious Gardens is located at 180 Rte. 117 Bypass Rd., Bedford Hills. RSVP to [email protected]. For more info, visit Facebook.com/NWestLoPutHMN.
