“Speaking of Yoga” Workshop Focuses on Voice: At the Yoga Studio at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor, NY

Sarah Bell, founder of the Speaking of Yoga method

On October 10, 2015, Yoga Teachers Association (YTA) will host a workshop by Sarah Bell, founder of the Speaking of Yoga method, which focuses on connecting the voice to the body in order to identify and correct habits that may be obstacles to everyday communication. The method can be used by fitness trainers, singers, speakers and businesspeople as well as yoga teachers, Bell says.

“Especially if you use your voice professionally, you will find that a new awareness in the way you feel your voice will bring you greater control and freedom in the way you communicate,” she says. “My three-hour workshop will include asana, reading aloud and learning tools to keep the voice as healthy as the rest of the body.”

The workshop will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 at the Yoga Studio at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor, NY. It is the second of ten workshops in the 2015-16 series hosted by YTA. Upcoming workshops include Yoga and Scoliosis with Deborah Wolk on November 14 and the Principles of Backbending with Freddie Wyndham and Darcy Bowman on December 12.

YTA is a nonprofit run by volunteers. Annual membership costs $35 and is open to studio owners, yoga teachers and individual practitioners. Workshops are usually held on the second Saturday of the month and are $35 for members or $45 for nonmembers. Continuing education credits are available for all workshops.
