Big Bang Coffee Roasters has opened its first retail location in the heart of downtown Peekskill, NY. The store offers a range of fresh-roasted, organic, fair-trade coffees and espresso by the cup or the bag, as well as a light-fare menu with gluten-free and vegan options. “Our new location had its grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting on the 31st of October and continues to introduce new items every week,” says owner and roaster Elina Dart.

After four years as a fixture in the regional farmers’ market circuit, Dart says, she’s happy to finally have a space to call her own. “The building is historical and gorgeous,” she says. “The food we serve is light and healthy and takes all diets into consideration. Most of all, I am so excited to have a venue where I can share my coffee knowledge every day. Look out for our Home-Brewing Basics Workshop, so everyone can start drinking specialty coffee at home!”

Dart says the new store is designed as a safe, child-friendly environment with ample stroller parking and toys for small children, so that parents can relax and enjoy their coffee. “The store calendar is already filled with nightly groups that meet for everything from knitting to poetry,” she says.
