Speaker Series Features Green Business Leaders in Westchester: Turning Energy Challenges Into Business Opportunities

Three local business leaders who have achieved Westchester Green Business Certification will be the featured speakers at the WGBC Leaders in Sustainability Speaker Series event, Turning Energy Challenges Into Business Opportunities, to be held December 11, 2015, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Westchester Community College, The Gateway Center, 75 Grasslands Rd., Valhalla, NY.

This is the second installment of a four-part series featuring business leaders who have achieved WGB certification. This event will assess the state of clean energy in Westchester County and take a look at what three leading organizations are doing to pave the way for a more sustainable future. Featured speakers will be Jill Davis, director of Hendrick Hudson Free Library; Chris Hale, founder and president of SunBlue Solar; and Jeffrey Hogan, energy and sustainability manager of Montefiore Medical Center. Future installments in the series will be held March 11 and May 20.

WGB-Certified is the region’s only green business certification program for Westchester-based organizations ready to take their sustainability efforts to the next level. The program was launched in early 2014 and represents an expansion of the Westchester Green Business Challenge, a public-private partnership between Westchester County and the Business Council of Westchester. The WGBC speaker series is intended as an informative and interactive way to rethink the role of energy in Westchester’s business community and share strategies any business can use to turn energy into a competitive advantage.
