Relay for Life Comes to Mahopac and Patterson: Fighting Cancer as a Community

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the world’s largest fundraising event to end cancer, will be held in Mahopac June 4-5 and Patterson June 11-12. During this organized, overnight community fundraising walk, teams of people camp out around a track for 24 hours while their members take turns walking.

The Relay for Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action to fi nish the fi ght once and for all. On a local level, Relay for Life fundraisers are family-friendly events with food, games and activities that provide entertainment and build camaraderie. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, which helps save more than 500 lives a day.

Relay for Life of Mahopac will take place from 7 a.m. June 4 to 7 a.m. June 5 at Mahopac High School, 421 Baldwin Place Road. Relay for Life of Patterson will take place from 7 a.m. June 11 to 7 a.m. June 12 at Patterson Fire Department No. 1, 13 Burdick Road.
