A Day of Peace Event in Rye: Gathering on September 25

Michael Tellinger

The Wainwright House in Rye will be the setting of an International Day of Peace gathering from 1 to 5 p.m., September 25. Featuring expert speakers as well as live music, the event recognizes the UN General Assembly’s declaration that one day each September be devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace within and among all nations and peoples. The theme for 2016 is Sustainable Development Goals.

The afternoon will include ceremony, meditation and prayer, a guided “peace circle,” and sacred and inspirational music by Patricia Keil, Nell Malyszka and Paul Malyszka of the Suzuki School of Music in Newton, Connecticut.

The speakers will be three people on the leading edge of the global peace movement: Michael Tellinger, author, scientist and explorer—a “real-life Indiana Jones” and founder of the global Ubuntu Liberation Movement; Deborah Moldow, co-chair of the International Day of Peace, a member of the United Nations Committee on NGOs and a representative to the UN for the World Peace Prayer Society; and Sri Gayatri Naraine, a member of Brahma Kumaris world spiritual organization and a representative to the United Nations.

The gathering is sponsored by Wainwright House and the Vistar Foundation, which is dedicated to collective consciousness. It will be hosted by Vistar cofounders Dr. Ron Friedman and Victoria Friedman. (For more information, visit VistarFoundation.org.)

Wainwright House is located at 260 Stuyvesant Ave., Rye. To register, visit Wainwright.org.
