Katonah Pharmacy, a new family-owned, independent pharmacy in the former Mrs. Green’s location at 202 Katonah Avenue, across the street from Awakenings, will hold its grand opening February 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The store will have giveaways, presentations, samples from vendors, complimentary juice and snacks from the juice bar and free chair massages. Dr. Somesh Kaushik, an Ayurvedic and naturopathic doctor, will offer free Dosha (pulse and tongue) analyses from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“It will be a fun day,” says Krystal Tamburino, who opened the juice bar in the back of the store. “We all believe in the holistic approach here, using natural remedies along with traditional medicine to treat the person as a whole.”

Head pharmacist and co-owner William Ryder says it’s not a typical pharmacy. “Our goal is to promote health and wellness in addition to providing pharmaceutical care. We offer an ever-expanding array of healthy choices of vitamins, supplements, homeopathics, natural foods and organic juices. We don’t want the pharmacy department to be your only stop,” says Ryder.

The pharmacy is open seven days a week: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
