Local Artist’s New Book Explores Sacred Feminine Archetypes: New book features paintings of thirteen sacred feminine archetypes, prophetesses and “women of strength."

Jo Jayson

Spiritual artist and teacher Jo Jayson has just published a new book, Self-Love through the Sacred Feminine, featuring paintings of thirteen sacred feminine archetypes, prophetesses and “women of strength.” Beginning in March, Jayson will hold book signings and talks locally and nationally, exhibiting her work and giving lectures at expos around the country. She will also offer a seven-week online course based on the book February 7 through March 28.

Part art, part story, part journal, Self-Love through the Sacred Feminine is intended to guide women through prayers, meditations and healing exercises to rediscover what it means to be a woman of power and grace in today’s complex world.

“We are born wearing a crown; there is nothing more divine than our own souls,” Jayson says. “Through the teachings of Guinevere, the Magdalene, Brighid of Ireland, Isis, Mary the Mother, Jeanne d’Arc, Miriam, Guan Yin, Morgan le Fey, Artemis, Kali Ma, Inanna and Grandmother Spider, we learn how to love ourselves, take back our power, gain courage, forgive, embrace our sensuality and weave the web of our own lives.”

Jayson says the early response to the book has been gratifying. She’s received praise for her innovative approach to women’s empowerment.

“With her beautiful art and inspiring text, Jo Jayson’s book practically sizzles with deep feminine fire illuminating the path to self-love,” writes Cathleen O’Connor, PhD, author of 365 Days of Angel Prayers. Author Heather Kristian Strang encourages women to “grab a cup of hot tea and settle in with this gorgeous work of art that will open you further into the Sacred Feminine that you Divinely are.”

Born in the United Kingdom, Jayson is a self-taught painter who began her career as a muralist and decorative painter in London, Sydney and New York. In 2008, she started working with the divine feminine energies, culminating in her internationally acclaimed Sacred Feminine Series of paintings depicting thirteen divine feminine channeled archetypes. Jayson offers workshops and online courses for healing and self-development as well as paintings, prints, meditation kits and CDs for physical and emotional wellness and empowerment.
