“Free to Move” Series at Star Bodies: Featuring gentle exercises to increase strength and flexibility.

Gilda Aronson

Star Bodies in Scarsdale has begun a new series of classes, Free to Move, featuring gentle exercises to increase strength and flexibility. “These classes are designed for people who want to feel more freedom in their movement with less pain, and ultimately be more comfortable in their bodies” says Gilda Aronson, owner of Star Bodies.

Free to Move classes are performed on the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower, which lets the participant perform three-dimensional circular and spiraling movements that are gentle on the joints, promoting flexibility and strength with each repetition, Aronson says. “We keep our class sizes small so that clients get personal attention to make sure their technique is good for maximum results,” she notes.

Star Bodies client and “weekend warrior” Steve Wirz says he takes Free to Move classes as a proactive measure. “I’ve been doing sports my whole life and never really stretched and have been able to get away with it,” he says. “But now I realize I need to stretch and align my body to avoid injury and keep going. These classes really help to improve my technique, not to mention save my back, knees and shoulders. Everyone should be doing this type of exercise.”

The cost of three Free to Move classes is $45.
