Small-Group Spring Cleanse at GetJuiced: Boost energy, reduce inflammation and sugar cravings, rejuvenate the skin for a healthy glow, and replenish the body with essential nutrients.

Margarita Carreras

Margarita Carreras—a certified yoga instructor and holistic health coach and the owner of GetJuiced in Red Hook—recently returned from a nutritional cleanse at the Sivananda Ashram in Paradise Island, Bahamas. She found the cleanse so rewarding that she’s offering it to groups of four this spring, so friends can experience it together. “They’ll learn about food as medicine while reviving and reversing toxic overload in their bodies,” she says.

This “food as medicine” philosophy is already the foundation of GetJuiced, a whole-food juice café serving organic juices, soups and salads. “We believe that food has the power to heal and transform your body into a vibrant, energetic and healthy individual,” Carreras says.

The spring cleanse program she will offer is designed to boost energy, reduce inflammation and sugar cravings, rejuvenate the skin for a healthy glow, and replenish the body with essential nutrients.

“Participants will learn to detoxify gently and with ease through clean eating,” she says. “They will alkalize their bodies through fresh juices, superfood smoothies, healing broths and detox salads.” She will also share healthy recipes and useful tools for continuing the journey to a healthier and more vibrant lifestyle once the cleanse is over.
